‘PORTRAIT OF A MIND’ - 24 NOVEMBER 2022
The self-portrait, a composition representative of oneself. To create a sonic representation of the mind, I chose to illustrate my project through an abstract interpretation of a self-portrait. In composing a piece that consists of both imaginary and realistic elements, I formed a dreamlike state that is representative of the space, illusion, and physical power of our minds and subconsciouses. The project is also representative of how vulnerable and intimate true listening is. Interaction and reaction with sound, especially on the individual scale, is a key factor in the relationship we all hold within ourselves. This is not just a depiction of how I choose to perceive the concept, however, it is an abstract base for the concept that should be morphed and analyzed by others as well.
